The Faces Behind the Floors: Meet the Palmetto Epoxy Family

When you choose a company to transform your home or business, you aren’t just buying a product; you’re investing in the people behind the craft. At Palmetto Epoxy, we believe that the key to a world-class floor lies in the details, and those details are handled by a world class team that treats every project as if it were for their own family. Since our incorporation on March 2, 2021, we have grown from a new local business into a cornerstone of the Bluffton and Hilton Head community, recently being honored as a winner in the Lowcountry’s Best 2025 awards. Our journey began with a move from the Northeast to the South, driven by a desire to be closer to family and a passion for bringing industrial-strength quality to the Lowcountry. Today, our team is a tight-knit group of professionals dedicated to quality products, meticulous workmanship, and a level of customer service that is simply unmatched in the flooring industry.

Dennis Aberle: Founder & Visionary

Dennis Aberle brings a unique blend of Ivy League discipline and high-level management expertise to the flooring world. A graduate of Queens College (class of 2001), Dennis spent much of his career in Huntington, New York, mastering the fast-paced world of automotive sales management and finance. As a former General Sales Manager for high-volume dealerships like Huntington Ford and Huntington Honda, he learned that the foundation of any successful business is trust and clear communication. Seven years ago, Dennis and his wife, Martha, made the move from Long Island to Bluffton to leverage his extensive background in customer relations to launch Palmetto Epoxy. As the registered agent and lead visionary, Dennis is the driving force behind our “no-shortcuts” philosophy, ensuring that every mechanical grind and resin pour meets the highest standards of excellence.

Martha Aberle: Co-Owner & COO

Martha Aberle is the heartbeat of Palmetto Epoxy’s daily operations. Serving as the Co-Owner and COO, Martha manages the complex logistics, business administration, and customer relations that keep our projects running smoothly. She moved to the area specifically to build this company from the ground up, focusing on bridging the “Credibility Gap” often found in the contracting world. Beyond her operational leadership, Martha is deeply rooted in the Lowcountry community and is known for her philanthropic spirit and support of local causes. Whether she is managing a large-scale commercial install or connecting with a residential client, Martha’s focus remains the same: delivering a professional-grade surfacing experience while maintaining the personal touch of a family-owned business.

Clayton Davis: The Foundation of our Success

If you ask the Aberles, they will tell you that Palmetto Epoxy wouldn’t be where it is today without Clayton Davis. Originally from Roselle Park, New Jersey, Clay moved to the Lowcountry with his amazing wife, Gretchen, and has been with the company since day one. A dedicated family man with two beautiful daughters, a son, and a beautiful granddaughter, Clay brings a sense of reliability and veteran expertise to every job site. His dedication to the craft and his tireless work ethic have been instrumental in building our reputation for meticulous workmanship. Clay isn’t just an employee; he is a vital part of the Palmetto Epoxy story, and his commitment to our customers’ satisfaction is reflected in every floor we finish.

Family, Sports, and the Lowcountry Community

At the end of the day, we are a family business through and through. For Dennis and Martha, life outside of epoxy often revolves around their two daughters, who are both active in competitive sports. You’ll frequently find the Aberle family traveling across the region with traveling teams, supporting their girls at various sporting events. This passion for youth sports extends into the business as well; Palmetto Epoxy is a proud Sponsor of May River High School Girls Soccer, reflecting our commitment to giving back to the community that has welcomed us so warmly. We aren’t just contractors; we are your neighbors, fellow parents, and active members of the Bluffton and Hilton Head community.

Conclusion: Our Commitment to You

Our team at Palmetto Epoxy is a dynamic blend of Northern work ethic and Southern hospitality. From Dennis’s strategic leadership and Martha’s operational excellence to Clay’s foundational dedication, we are united by a single goal: making sure our customers are always satisfied. We don’t cut corners because we know that a floor is more than just a surface—it’s a place where your family gathers and your business grows. We are honored to serve the Lowcountry, and we look forward to bringing our “Best of 2025” quality to your next project.
